Assessment

As you age, life sometimes brings new challenges that can feel overwhelming. It is common to find that your usual ways of coping with difficulties are no longer working. In the past you may have relied on strategies such as keeping physically active, working hard, being self-reliant or using alcohol and other ways to distract from difficult feelings. When life becomes overwhelming, whether due to depression, loneliness, strained relationships, the challenges of aging, chronic illness, or constant worry, psychological therapy can help you develop coping strategies and improve your quality of life and overall well-being. Anxiety and depression are not a normal part of ageing and can be treated. Older people can benefit from psychological therapy as much as younger people can, and sometimes even more so.

Therapy Services

I am a clinical psychologist for older people based in the East Midlands. I welcome direct self-referrals and there is no need for a referral from your doctor. I also accept referrals from GPs and other health professionals.

I offer in-person assessment and therapy appointments from clinic rooms in Nottingham, Derby and Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Home visits can be arranged where appropriate. If you require a home visit, this will be discussed during our initial contact.

In-person assessment and therapy sessions cost £140 per 60 minute session. Home visits may be subject to an additional fee for travel.

I also offer online consultations and therapy which enables me to work with people from all over the UK and overseas and with those who find it difficult to attend in-person sessions due to mobility issues or health concerns. Online sessions cost â€‹£120 per 60 minute session.

Please get in touch if you would like to arrange a free 15 minute conversation where we can discuss the difficulties you are currently experiencing and whether I may be able to help.
